Hummingbirds and Oranges!

We have been away from home for a couple of days.  Our first thoughts upon returning were to get our personal belongings unloaded and the "cold items" refrigerated again.  Next up was certainly checking food and water for our birds in the yard.  The oranges had been ravished by the Baltimore Orioles while we were gone. My husband replenished those while I checked the water in the bird baths and filled Hummingbird feeders.  Our "Hummers" have emptied our feeders at least once and sometimes twice in recent days. The fall migration south seems to bring amazing amounts of these beautiful tiny birds to visit. We finished our chores and sat down to rest on the porch as we often do.  I believe we both saw the Hummingbird drinking from the orange about the same time.  We looked at each other and laughed.as we continued to watch and witness this event.  It was certainly new for us and I enjoyed taking a few photos as he would drink and then sit a few minutes and then return to the orange for more. Cute! Hope you enjoy my photos and be sure to put out a few oranges, you never know which little bird will enjoy them! Blessings!
